Complete dentures replace a full set of teeth, made entirely of acrylic resin and teeth. Partial dentures fill the spaces left by missing teeth using similar materials bonded to a metal framework, held in place by your remaining natural teeth.
Getting the fit right takes several appointments with our dentists to guide the fabrication process – every denture is made by certified dental technicians at our partner dental lab, not a denturist, which is what sets our process apart.
Why Amherstburg Dental
Complete & partial dentures
Lab-fabricated by certified technicians
Adjustment visits included after delivery
Implant-supported options available
Timing
Two ways to get there
Conventional Dentures
Placed six to eight weeks after any extractions, once your gum tissue has fully healed - for the most stable, precise fit.
Immediate Dentures
Placed right after extraction so you're never without teeth - with regular relines over three to six months as your gums heal and change shape.
For More Secure Fit
Implant-supported dentures
For patients with more significant bone loss, titanium implants placed in the upper or lower jaw give a new denture a stable foundation to anchor to – and help prevent further bone loss over time.
The Process
What to expect
01
Consultation & Planning
We talk through complete vs. partial, and conventional vs. immediate, based on your teeth and timeline.
02
Fit & Lab Fabrication
Several appointments guide our partner lab's certified technicians as they fabricate your custom denture.
03
Delivery & Adjustment
Follow-up visits to adjust any sore spots are a normal, expected - and included - part of settling into your new denture.
04
Long-Term Care
Immediate dentures need regular relines while your gums heal. With good care, most dentures last five to ten years.
Sore spots and small adjustments after delivery are a normal part of the process — follow-up visits to fine-tune the fit are always expected, and always included.
